Information

March 30, 2020:  Gov. Larry Hogan issued a stay-at-home order for Marylanders which means no one should leave their home for any reason other than essential work, to get food or other fundamental reason. The order takes effect at 8 pm.
For the GISW this means:

1. All GISW buildings will be closed for the foreseeable future.

2. In order to give our teachers and parents more time to prepare, we are postponing both parent nights that were scheduled for tonight to Thursday at the same time.

Distance Learning until Friday, April 24th, 2020.

We are here for you as we continue to prepare for the 2020/21 school year. The Admissions Office remains open. Please complete this form and we will contact you: https://giswashington.org/request-information-package.html

Supporting GISW

As a school that sits between a traditional independent school, where tuition and fees cover all expenses, and a public or state-sponsored school, where the local government provides funding, GISW enjoys some of the benefits and challenges of both systems. While funds from the German government plus tuition and fees come together to cover the basics of running GISW, we run a separate Annual Fund to support the costs of unbudgeted expenses -- equipment or programming or other projects to enhance our students’ education and experience. The programs listed below all support the GISW Annual Fund. Thank you for your participation!

COMMEMORATIVE PATHWAY BRICKS

Leave your legacy at GISW! Commemorative pathway bricks make great gifts for graduations, birthdays, anniversaries or to remember a loved one. Bricks are placed in the walkway leading from the lower parking lot to the Elementary School building.

Bricks are available in two sizes: small (4x8x2 ¼) or large (8x8x 2 ¼). Small bricks are $250, large bricks are $350. Order forms are available here, or can be requested at Reception in the main building. Completed forms and payment (via check) should be dropped off at Reception. Standard production and installation is 6-8 weeks.
